Barnebys
My UX journey kicked off at Barnebys, and I’ll always be thankful they took a chance on a fresh graduate.
I spent my time keeping Barnebys.com and its search experience feeling smooth, later working on the Skeleton project, as well as putting together marketing material for our team and for our customers.
Later, I moved over to the Skeleton project — Barnebys’ online auction platform. The platform had been around for a while but required a major tech- and design overhaul. I took the lead on the admin/dashboard side of things, while my colleague handled the public-facing storefront.
Although we had elected to use an existing frontend framework for this project, many features had to be built from the ground up, especially considering the vast amount of data and features specific to the auction world (you would not believe how many types of auctions there are!).
In order to gather some understanding on what we should implement, and whether we are moving in the right direction, we frequently collaborated with several Swedish auction houses, which has been a very valuable lesson in collaborating with customers during the design process.
On top of all that, I transitioned the design team over to Figma, developed a design system, and rebuilt our components using Auto-Layout in order to make our devs (and myself) just a little bit happier!
